Need A Golf Buddy?

Golf is a game that is best enjoyed when you are with good company. Especially with players that make you laugh even when you are playing BADLY. This happens quite alot when we do not practice at the driving range and play maybe once or twice a month.

I know as a fact that many golfers do not go to the driving range often enough. They say that they are social golfers and as such are not that serious about maintaining or improving their game. But you should hear the wonderful expletives they shout when they hit a really bad shot and end up with a triple bogey or a double par. Even Vijay Singh would turn as pale as Michael Jackson (that means 2 shades lighter than MJ).

With this in mind this page was created to cater to golfers who do not have enough buddies to entertain them on the driving range or on the course or even for a beer or two.
See below a list of wonderfully individualistic characters that you can now share these golf adventures with. Hopefully creating new ones and new friends.

Cheers and Happy Golfing!

Commando Players (John Daly / Ian Poulter type players)
These players will play anywhere, far or near,18 holes,36 holes a day. They have been known to also play barefeet and in the rain. Anything goes. They have a "yoyo" type game and can go below 80 as well as go above 100 due to their "gungho" approach.
Attributes:
Can be loud on the course (only time they can express their machoism, vocally or fashionably)
Usually whacks the ball very far (they say that they imagine its their mother-in-law)
Fast pace players (sometimes they can finish a hole, have lunch and still meet their buddies on the next hole)
Uses colorful language often times while playing (usually describing themselves)
They are the ones helping nature organically while playing on the course. Anywhere goes.

Unorthodox Players (Jim Furyk / Gary Player type players)
These players have through no fault of their own, established their own unique style of golfing. They have their own trademark stance, swing, and walk. Can be very confusing to fellow golf buddies while on the course. While their orthodox counterparts score a double bogey, these unique specimens can sometimes par or better.
Attributes:
Can be louder on the course (unique personality)
Usually whacks the ball average
Slow pace players (as they need to adjust according to the sun,or to be in line with shadows, who knows??)
Uses colorful language often times while playing (usually in retaliation to lewd remarks by buddies)

Orthodox Players (Ernie Els / Rory Mcilroy type players)
They try to be the ambassador of golf while on the course. They dress right, swing right and behave right while on the course. The only problem is they usually don't score right. They have a "Jekyll & Hyde" golf biorythm, somedays scoring in the low 80s and somedays in the high 90s.
Attributes:
Very reserved on the course (victorian personality)
Usually whacks the ball far (not necessarily straight)
Medium pace players (they pace themselves according to the time alotted, usually following St. Andrews rulebook to the tee)
Uses colorful language also while playing but usually in very low audibles (usually in blaming everything else under the sun but themselves)

Single Handicappers
They are the most sought after players to have in a flight. Most social golfers want them because....
....they are good
....you can pick up alot of good tips from them
....they act, walk and play like a pro, well most of them do
....they give credibility to the other flight mates (preconception;if they are playing with him/her then they must be good as well)

Beginners
They come in two forms; introvert & extrovert...
The introverts are only willing to play with players like themselves, scoring high and making mistakes in every aspect of the game. They feel they BELONG and are not ridiculed.
The extroverts on the other hand think that they are the next Ryo Ishikawa, and feel that they should play with better players as this wiill improve their game more by watching and learning from the seasoned golfers.
